Description
SleepRight Dura-Comfort Dental Night Guard has an improved design of the bite-pads, frontal band and stability wing to the Secure Comfort dental-guard. Making this a stronger, more comfortable night guard for sufferers of severe bruxism and teeth grinding.
The Dura Comfort is designed to keep your upper and lower teeth apart to prevent premature tooth wear and noise from teeth grinding. The bite plates on the night guard are slowly ground down during bruxism episodes rather than grinding the teeth. Many sufferers also report that headaches and facial pain is reduced when using such a guard.
The wider frontal band is anatomically designed with an inner bridge to prevent the strap from sliding, the bendable hinges reduce pressure points and the stability wing is more flexible allowing the wings to move with your mouth for increased comfort.
The bite-pads on this guard are made from a higher quality material than those of the Secure Comfort dental-guard making it less likely for bruxism sufferers to bite through the material.

First time user
Supprisingly elastic, hard to chew, pads are quite thick at first after few nights you can’t sleep whitout em. I am a heavy grinder, so i have some fatique on tooths at morning, but after a brush its over. Not only great for teethgrinding, but great reminder to brush your teeth before going to sleep (putting them on) and at morning brushing your teeth so the fatique goes off. I never had these, but so far im liking em. and my wife can sleep nights whitout me grinding her awoke. win-win.
This product works
Very pleased with this, 6 weeks after buying. Used to have a dentist gumshield, but chewed it to bits over the years. Didn’t have time to get measured for replacement, so tried this one. I prefer this product. Two big advantages: no dentist’s fitting session; and the dental one must be stored wet, but this one must be stored dry, so much easier to carry around. Two pieces of advice: this will probably fit you out of the box, so *don’t* adjust it until you’ve given it a proper go. And secondly – when you first try it you can’t see how it can possibly stay in place; relax, somehow it does!
SleepRight Dura Comfort Night-Guard
I bought this product because I had a tooth abscess which was being aggravated by grinding my teeth at night. Also I was concerned about ongoing damage to my teeth. The night guard solved both those problems. At first I found it a little uncomfortable, but after a few nights I got used to it, and now I don’t notice it at all. It’s really easy to adjust and wear, and feels very soft. I can talk with it in, and drink water too. Now I wake up without tooth or jaw pain, and I’ve found I actually sleep better too. I wish I’d bought one years ago.
Nice
I usually use custom made mouth guards made by my dentist. The problem is that I cam to the UK to spend 7 weeks and had lost my mouth guard. I then decided to buy this one as a temporary solution. As a matter of fact, it works really well and gave me a lot of relief, no more neck pains in the morning, etc. It takes a little while getting used to the rubber strip touching your gums at your bottom front teeth, but you get past it. For anyone who didn’t get a custom one, this one works very well.
Pluses and Minuses
After being plagued by facial pain, my dentist suggested I try a traditionally moulded dental night-guard for my lower teeth, which was wonderful until I eventually ground my way through it. When I enquired about replacing it I was shocked how much a new guard was now going to cost me so I thought I might as well think about alternative grinding remedies and that’s when I came across the SleepRight Dura Comfort Night-Guard, which turns out to be a lot more comfortable than it looks in the illustrations. Because I’d been used to wearing a night-guard I had no problem getting used to the SleepRight Guard. The only downside is that the old guard fitted very closely over my lower teeth which meant you could still talk clearly, take medicine or have a drink while wearing it. The SleepRight Guard however is only held between your back teeth which means that a couple of times I’ve been awoken chewing it as it’s come loose in my mouth. Also you really need to remove it if swallowing a tablet, having a drink of water or talking, as it flops about when you part your teeth. It only takes a couple of seconds to remove and replace it, but it’s a bit of a faff-on when your half asleep and it’s dark. On the plus side however, the SleepRight Guard keeps your front teeth apart which means it’s physically impossible to grind them. With the old style guard I ground right through it with my front teeth. As you can see therefore, there are pluses and minuses to both styles of night-guards.
