Description
The Somni Snore Guard Mouthpiece is designed for people who snore with their mouth open and wish to stop snoring. It is a discrete, convenient and low cost treatment for mouth breathing and the effects of snoring and bad breath. Somni Snore Guard is moulded in hot water by the user to a comfortable fit. It is completely unobtrusive and can easily be used in an aeroplane, train, etc. At least one clear nasal airway is essential as breathing through the mouth is effectively blocked by this device.
Published clinical trials have demonstrated the success of this device and since we first introduced it to our customers over 10 years ago, it has become a truly indispensable product.
Pack contents: 1 mouthpiece, 1 container, fitting instructions.
The device is made of FDA and European Standards food grade EVA.
Read Carefully: Review the instructions thoroughly before starting the fitting process.
- Prepare: Work in front of a mirror and ensure your nasal passages are clear.
- Practice Placement: Practice placing the Snore Guard in your mouth with the holes facing down and the tag positioned between your teeth. Don’t worry if it feels bulky; it will shrink to fit.
- Heat and Soften: Mix 3 cups of boiling water with 2 cups of cold tap water in a bowl. Immerse the Snore Guard in the mixture for 20–30 seconds until it becomes soft.
- Mold to Fit: Quickly transfer the softened Snore Guard to your mouth. Gently clench the tag between your teeth and close your lips over the device. Suck your lips and cheeks onto the guard while pressing the tag against the roof of your mouth with your tongue. Hold this position for 60 seconds.
- Check Fit: Rinse the Snore Guard in cold water, then return it to your mouth to check the fit. Your lips should close comfortably with only a slight sensation of pressure.
The consequences of mouth breathing at night are often bad breath (halitosis) and snoring, both of which are undesirable and unpleasant for others.
- Halitosis is caused by decaying bacteria located on the tongue, palate and areas between the teeth. The effect of decay is enhanced when you breathe through your mouth at night, as an open mouth leads to loss of moisture on the tongue and palate and also allows unpleasant odour to escape; ‘morning breath’.
- In addition to mouth breathing, the intake of certain foods, drink, and drugs are known to cause a dry mouth and halitosis. Onion and garlic, for example, contain high concentrations of sulphur that pass through the lining of the intestines into the blood-stream and are subsequently released into the lungs and exhaled; ‘garlic breath’.
- Similarly, proteins in dairy products break down in the mouth leading to the release of amino acids that are rich in sulphur; ‘eggy breath’.
- Alcoholic drinks decrease saliva production resulting in a dry mouth and consequent bad breath. Smoking raises the concentration of volatile compounds in the mouth and lungs and because it too has a drying effect on the oral mucosa, the unpleasant smell of smoke is not only exhaled from the lungs but is also present in the mouth.
- Certain drugs such as antidepressants and antihistamines predispose to dry mouth leading to halitosis.

much improvement!
Bought this for my husband who already had a device purchased elsewhere which had become ineffective and uncomfortable to wear, this new one much more comfortable and more effectivel! Very pleased!
Good
I did the snore test and was recommended this product. I then read the reviews and decided to give it a go. I found the instructions on how to mould the guard easy to understand and follow. When wearing the guard I found it made my gums a little sore at first, but that soon goes off. Wearing the guard has made a difference and my snoring has been reduced so I am pleased with this product and would recommend anyone to give it a go. The only downside is that this product is a little expensive and it comes with a recommendation to replace it every six to eight months!
Snoreguard
I found the device to be very good it reduced my snoring considerably. I have one problem having moulded my guard to my current tooth-line I need to readjust as a result of a new crown, and I am not sure whether I repeat the how water process again. Advice not clear from phone call. Otherwise very happy.
Somni Snore Guard
I have been using this product for something like 5 years. It’s a miracle-worker as far as I’m concerned. It put an end to snoring (and waking myself up), dry mouth, sore throat and bad breath immediately I started using it. For those who are open mouth snorers, I cannot recommend it highly enough.
Mouth guards
I found the guard to be easy to adjust to my mouth. However, at first it was troublesome for a few days. My partner has commented that frequently my snoring still is bothersome. I am still using the guard as it does help,
