Additional FAQs
What are the best ear plugs for snoring?
The best ear plugs for snoring depend on your comfort and the level of noise you need to block. Foam ear plugs expand in the ear canal, while silicone earplugs mould to the shape of your ear. There are also specialist options like noise cancelling earplugs for snoring and isolate ear plugs. For very loud snoring, dense high-decibel (dB) ear plugs for sleeping may be more effective. Ear plugs are rated by their Noise Reduction Rating (NRR), which typically ranges from 22 dB to 37 dB – the higher the rating, the more noise they can reduce.
How do I put ear plugs in correctly?
For foam ear plugs, roll the plug into a small, tight cylinder, then reach over your head with the opposite hand to gently pull your ear upwards. Insert the plug into the ear canal and hold it in place while it expands to create a snug fit. Silicone and reusable ear plugs are pressed or twisted gently into place. Always follow the manufacturer’s instructions, as fitting methods can vary. Insert them carefully and never push them too deep, as this can cause discomfort or damage to the eardrum.
Is it safe to sleep with ear plugs in every night?
Ear plugs are generally safe to use every night, as long as you follow good hygiene. Wash your hands before handling them, clean reusable plugs regularly, and replace single-use foam ear plugs often. Keeping them clean and dry helps lower the risk of irritation, earwax build-up, or infection. Avoid pushing ear plugs too far into the ear canal, as this can cause discomfort or wax blockage. If you notice pressure, itching, or soreness, try a different type or size – or consult a healthcare professional for advice.
Do ear plugs damage your ears?
When used properly, ear plugs are safe and should not damage your ears. Issues usually arise if they’re inserted too deeply, used when dirty, or not replaced often enough, which can lead to irritation or wax build-up. To prevent problems, insert them gently, keep them clean, and follow the manufacturer’s replacement guidance. If you have ongoing ear problems, it’s best to speak with a healthcare professional before using ear plugs regularly.

Bliss
I wish I had discovered these years ago. After years of sleepless nights from my partners snoring, and developing quite an awful anxiety around bedtimes I can finally relax knowing I can get to sleep and stay asleep. I feel so much happier and more relaxed and my partner feels less guilty now! I use them a few times and they are quite comfortable. I do snip a few mm off the end of the one in the ear I sleep on and that makes it fit perfectly. I have tried about four others but these are the first ones I ever tried and the best. For the first week or so I did suffer from ‘phantom’ ear plug for a few hours after I took them out but that has dunces resolved itself. I have given some to my children who are both at uni and they find them brilliant St shutting out the noisy housemates! Buy some!!
Snore Calm Foam Ear Plugs
My husband and I would never go on holiday and slep in the same room if it weren’t for these earplugs. Brilliant. Also good value for money and prompt delivery.
Snorecalm earplugs = amazing!!
These earplugs really are fantastic. They are really comfortable, I often forget that i have them in!! They block out so much noise, and are particularly good for any external noises outside of the room, so I never get woken up by anything other than my alarm clock anymore. And I am a light sleeper with a noisy flatmate, living next to a train track and on the coast (ie. seagulls). My sleep is so much sounder than it used to be. I have tried lots of earplugs but these are by far and away the most comfortable, most effective and best value for money. I have been buying them for nearly 2 years now and wouldn’t swap them for anything else. All of my friends are now into them too, once I give them a pair to try out they are converts!!
not good enough
My husband is deaf yet still complains my snoring is so loud, the earplugs did not help in the least for him! Although I tested them out myself by wearing them whilst trying to watch tv and couldnt hear a thing. I am thinking maybe i am the loudest snorer in the world:(
