Description
The SleepRight Ultra-Comfort Dental Guard (previously known as the SleepRight Slim-Comfort Night Guard) is designed specifically for sufferers of teeth grinding and bruxism who have sensitive gums and/or a small mouth.
Like all the SleepRight night guards for sleep, the Ultra-Comfort is designed to keep your upper and lower teeth apart to prevent premature tooth wear and noise from teeth grinding. The bite plates on the night guard are slowly ground down during bruxism episodes rather than grinding the teeth. Many sufferers also report that headaches and facial pain is reduced when using such a nightguard.

I haven’t broken any teeth since I started sleeping with this in but every time I sleep without it I still do: some sort of muscle spasm rather than teeth grinding. I have been using it for over 6 months now but still find I grip it very tightly with my teeth unless I concentrate – not that easy to keep clean and fresh either: it can be quite uncomfortable and i often worry about whether i am wearing it correctly and it seems to stick out into my cheeks quite prominently

During a particularly stressful period I found that I was waking up with a painful jaw, a stiff neck and a headache from clenching my teeth whilst sleeping. I tried herbal relaxation remedies but nothing was effective for long enough to get me through the night. I thought a mouth guard of some sort might be the answer and so searched the internet. I found the Sleepright Dental Guard and the low profile version looked as if it might do the job and so I ordered it. It felt a little strange the first few nights but not uncomfortable, I soon got used to it and it certainly did the trick, by preventing my teeth from closing tightly together I soon learned to relax my jaw and after a few weeks I was waking without discomfort and feeling more refreshed. At the moment my stress levels are at a manageable level and I do not need to wear a guard but will have no hesitation in re-ordering should the need arise again. The only downside is that the guard will become hard and brittle after a while and will need to be replaced on a regular basis.
