Description

The SleepRight Ultra-Comfort Dental Guard (previously known as the SleepRight Slim-Comfort Night Guard) is designed specifically for sufferers of teeth grinding and bruxism who have sensitive gums and/or a small mouth.

Like all the SleepRight night guards for sleep, the Ultra-Comfort is designed to keep your upper and lower teeth apart to prevent premature tooth wear and noise from teeth grinding. The bite plates on the night guard are slowly ground down during bruxism episodes rather than grinding the teeth. Many sufferers also report that headaches and facial pain is reduced when using such a nightguard.

Review Title

I have previously had custom made night guards from my dentist on three or four occasions, each of which lasted about a year, as I have quite a problem with overnight teeth grinding. I thought I would try this device as a cheaper alternative. It took a couple of days to accommodate myself to using the sleepright nightguard, as it is not quite as comfortable as the plate I have used previously. However, it does the job, cleans easily and shows no signs of wear in the 6-8 week spell I have been using it. Happy with my purchase.

I was unsure whether to buy the small version but I went for it, and it was a good thing I did, as it is just about ok on the smallest adjustment. I am not convinced that it helps with teeth grinding / clenching as my experience is that you grind / chew the device rather than your teeth. It certainly protects the teeth. For some reason I have found that I grind my teeth less during the day as a result of using it- so that is a plus. Some nights I think it really helps – others it seems to be more of a nuisance – but I am persisting. Don’t expect a miracle cure but it may help a bit!

I like this Bite Splint

02/04/2012

My teeth clenching was causing expensive damage to my teeth so my dentist suggested wearing bite splints – a wonderful, but not very attractive invention! However over the last seven years my regular wearing of these splints at night, especially one which sat over my front teeth, caused my teeth to move and led to me biting the insides of my cheeks often enough to be annoying. Individually made bite splints are also rather expensive. I decided to try the Slim Comfort Night-Guard after doing a bit of research on the net. It’s pretty good so far. After two months my teeth are moving back slowly and I no longer bite my cheeks. It sits comfortably in my mouth and is light and easy to wear. I found the price very reasonable at the equivalent of A$87.00. I hope this situation remains the same. I am unsure if this bite splint will cause movement of my teeth – I guess time will tell.

sllepright slim night guard

Initially I found it did really help but after a few days my mouth got a bit sore so I had a couple of nights on then off to help. The one major problem I had was that I bit through it on one side within about 3 weeks. It has not split all the way through the bit plate but is about 80% now. I am going to try the more durable one but i am a bit worried that i may find it too big. They are very expensive especially as mine only lasted a few weeks! For info I dont grind I just bite down – really hard as well by the looks of it! 🙁 Gives me jaw pain and lots of headaches. Going to rate as a 4 purely because its just not durable enough but if it was I would rate higher.

SleepRight Slim Comfort Night-Guard

31/10/2011

I was advised by my dentist that I would benefit from a night guard to prevent the grinding down of my teeth during the night. He was ready to provide such a guard but at a cost of about £350. I purchased SleepRight Slim Comfort Night-Guard instead and I have been delighted with the outcome. It does exactly what it says it will do; it is easy to fit and wash and it is cost-effective.
