The Reality - Our Review & Opinion

As a nasal dilator, this does the job particularly well. Correct placement within the nostrils is the key to success and we found that the best position was with the nasal flare sitting flush with the bottom of the nostril. This leaves the connecting band looping below the nose, which seems a little counter-intuitive. When fitted like this, a significant amount of dilation was achieved and airflow into the nasal passages was greatly increased.

If the flares are pushed further into the nose, we found the device pinches into the septum a little.

For the first night of use, the aroma coming from the menthol crystals is very, very strong. The initial blast lasts for around 30 minutes before the nose becomes accustomed to it.

For the second night, the menthol aroma had decreased and could now be described as just a gentle pleasant sensation. This continued for the third night. 9 days later the menthol is still detectable, but is now very subtle.

For all the positives, this device does have its inherent issues. It’s a one-size-fits-all device, so may not be suitable if you have a narrow or very wide nostril. The initial burst of menthol is incredibly powerful – possibly too much for some people. Precise fitting is also important, as discomfort to the septum can occur where it clips on. This was experienced in our tests on night 3 when the device became dislodged slightly during sleep.

Did it help with snoring? – It certainly improved nasal airflow considerably and the menthol aroma was very pleasant. Recorded snoring was reduced by a small amount, but not eliminated.

Would we recommend this product – Yes, but only in certain situations. If you’re struggling to sleep due to hay fever allergies or from nasal congestion due to a cold, then this may well offer the relief you may not get from other nasal dilators.
