British Snoring & Sleep Apnoea Association Reviews
Amazing and comfortable
I purchased a SomnoGuard AP2 a few weeks ago and had immediate success(see my review on the AP2 page) When I saw the deal for the SomnoGuard 3 I thought it would be a perfect 2nd/emergency device so I bought one straight away. After reading the reviews I noted that fitting was thought to be fiddly by most so I took my time and watched online fitting videos several times, noting that the 20 second immersion time appears to be crucial. Once set up fitting went well with only a minor collapse in the wall due to one of my front teeth being crocked. Once fitted the device felt so comfortable I didn’t think it would work and that it would fall out. However first night success without any discomfort or snoring! I would recommend this to anyone and I ow have a fantastic device that may take over from my AP2!
SomnoGuard
Although I have been very pleased with my SomnoGuard I bought one for my wife and it proved immediately non-useable, possibly due to the configuration of her teeth and jaw. This has been a great disappointment as we understand you do not offer refunds.
Nozovent - Brilliant
This simple device works a treat. Has made my night’s sleep so much easier and better. Worth every penny!
Somnoguard 3
Unlike some other users I found this device pretty easy to set up. Evidence so far is that it has made some reduction in my snoring. I used to have a somnowell brace, which was excellent, but managed to lose it in some hotel. So I thought I would try one of these as they are far cheaper before I invest in a new somnowell. I have had it for 2 weeks and may in another week or so reset it with my jaw slightly further forward, to see if that is still comfortable and if it helps with any further reduction. All in all I would recommend.
Rhynil double strength
Works well you can feel passages clearing immediately
Review of Rhynil
I have only used the product on four occasions and my partners already tells me there is a significant difference in the level of my snoring. I think I may have to use the product for longer to see more benefits but so far I am very pleased.I find my snoring to be very embarrassing as I feel it is a major turnoff – especially when it is usually the male that snores.Thank you and I will continue using your product and hope I get further improvement.
Not worth money
It’s very hard to get comfortable and sleep all night with it, I find it on the floor most mornings. As a student it’s a lot of money especially when it doesn’t work but the hospital recommended it and I thought worth a try but wish I never bought it now. It’s very similar to a gum shield like you get in sport shops.
Worked for me
It took a while to start working but my wife is very glad that it did! The taste is unpleasant and I don’t think I’ll get used to it, but it doesn’t last long. All in all a good product and the only one I’ve found that actually works.
Ear plugs that work great!
Finally. Some ear plugs that work great. Minimises the snoring from my hubby. Doesnt get rid of all the noise but makes it so much better…. i can also hear my alarm clock with these earplugs in. Ive tried all sorts of ear plugs- the cheaper ones to the expensive ones, these so far are the best. (Except when my hubby increases the decibels to out of this world snoring). I get about 2 maybe 3 nights out of a pair of these. Highly recommend.
Godsend
I suffer from Sjorgrens Syndrome which means I produce no saliva at night and mouth breathing results in chronic oral dryness, mouth ulcers and respiratory problems. These strips have been a life saver and really do work. They take a bit practise and patience to get the hang of applying them correctly and to new users I would suggest the following: Watch the You Tube video. Put moisturiser on before applying the plaster but let it absorb fully before putting on. Doing this makes the strip easier to remove, reuse or reposition. Roll your lips inwards whilst applying (so your lips are rolled under your teeth); this makes the skin taut and once the plaster is in place your lips are naturally sealed. If you suffer from a dry mouth condition place mouth gel behind your front teeth (before applying strip) so that it stays in place for as long as possible and isn’t immediately swallowed. In the morning carefully remove the strip so that it can be reused. I generally get 3-4 nights wear from one strip. But this only works if the skin is supple and smooth and the plaster is peeled off from the bottom up using both hands to ease it off evenly. Initially wearing the plaster feels a bit claustrophobic but you quickly get used to it. It is possible to drink water through a straw when wearing and the fabric is soft enough to feel comfortable and not overly constraining. Lastly I’d like to thank British Snoring for selling this product as its made massive difference in alleviating what is a miserable chronic disease.
Really work
These ear plugs have changed my life – we were getting to the point where we were going to have to get a spare bed so I could sleep: now we can sleep together perfectly happily. Can’t recommend them enough.
Tomed SomnoGuard3 Review
Product arrived last week. A couple of attempts before I felt it was fitted correctly. Slightly uncomfortable when wearing for the first time, but it gets better quickly.I thought my snoring just woke up my wife, but after a week, I realise that it was actually making both of us have poor nights sleep. I haven’t been woken once to tell me to stop snoring since I started using it.It has made an enormous difference and pretty much eliminated my snoring. What a result!!
Not Happy
Very difficult to fit, when you remove them from the hot water, they close up as very sticky. The v to tell you which way up disappears, so you don’t know which way up they are. Tried fitting them in my mouth, found it very difficult and once they were in were very uncomfortable, there was no way I could have worn them for more than a few minutes let alone all night! Back in the box where they will stay!
Works for me
I have used this product for a year or more and find that it does prevent me waking in the night, reduces snoring noise and helps me to feel more rested in the morning. All in all, I would not be without it.
Very good
Stopped my snoring so wife was pleased , will have to get one for her now . Follow the instructions for fitting and you shouldn’t have a problem with it colapsing. Doesn’t feel too bulky in the mouth , so would definitely recommend this product
It works
Easy to fit, comfortable when fitted and defiantly helped with my snoring.
I don't have to sleep in the spare room anymore
My snoring became so bad that my partner exiled me to the spare bedroom. Since purchasing the SomnoGuard 3 my snoring has stopped and I have been allowed back. The SomnoGuard 3 was easy to fit, although it did require some slight adjustment before it was 100% effective. My partner is now able to get an undisturbed night’s sleep and I am thoroughly happy with my purchase.
SomnoGuard SP Soft mandibular
Having used the SomnoGuard 3 (£39.99) quite successfully for a few years I thought I’d give the SomnoGuard SP Soft mandibular a go. Yes it’s more expensive, more difficult to fit (it took me 3 attempts) and awkward to fit the connecting strips, but I found the end result much better. I now often wake up with the guard still in place, when previously I would remove it in my sleep in the early hours. It’s more comfortable and seems to work better.
Nozovent work sell for me
I have been using Nozovent for several years now and find that they keep my nostrils form collapsing during sleep. I don’t think they stop the snoring completely but they do help and I sleep much better since suing them. Only one complaint really; they do become dislodged at times and because they are opaque, it can be difficult to find them again if you bed linen is white or cream. Would be good if they came in different colours.
It worked for me!
I gave not much chance or really understand why the snore guard works but it does. My husband of course is the one who notices the difference most but after 42 years he’s due a good night’s sleep. I’m aware that I’m not having as many nights of broken sleep from waking myself snorting. Is it ultra comfortable, no but it’s a case of needs must. It took a few times of cutting to fit my small mouth.
No change
It was easier to mould and more comfortable than one I had tried before. I didn’t take it out in my sleep. Unfortunately, it didn’t make the slightest bit of difference to my snoring though.
Tomed SomnoGuard 3
This product has changed my (and my partners) life. I suffer from sleep apnea and heavy snoring, I used to wake up not being able to breathe and in the morning had a sore throat from all the snoring. But not any more, this bit of plastic has stopped the sleep apnea and the snoring is now ‘ocassional’ according to the boss! Im even now allowed back in her bed sometimes. You get used to waering it after a couple of nights. Fitting (moulding) it easier than it sounds in the instructions but read carefully, my device went a bit wonky when I moulded it but it still works a treat. I have just purchased a second in case I miss lay the first. This device is amazing at the price
Snoring
my husbands snoring is that bad he has to sleep in another room ! We’ve just bought a motor home so I bought these as we were going away ! Well what a disappointing experience! I could hear everything there was a slight muffle ! I was up putting them in and taking them out I even googled how to put them in properly! I wouldn’t waste your money on these !
Can't sleep without
I have been using nozovent for a few years now and haven’t found anything better for my condition – deviated septum. I now always cut one side of the nozovent to stop it sitting on my scar tissue from failed operation. A new one does take a few days to become comfortable but it’s worth it to get a good nights sleep. The best thing about nozovent is that it doesn’t touch your septum. It can sometimes take a bit of playing around with to get a comfortable and secure fit.
