How to use
- Roll and compress earplug into a small crease-free cylinder
- To ensure proper fitting, reach your hand over your head and gently pull your ear upwards and outwards. Insert the compressed, rounded end of the earplug well into the ear canal
- Hold for a few seconds until earplug expands
Remove: Slowly twist and pull out of the ear canal to prevent damage to the eardrum.
Precautions
- When removing the earplug, twist slowly & gradually to break the seal. If rapid removal this may result in damaging the eardrum.
- Improper fitting will reduce effectiveness.
- Discard if earplugs come in contact with lubricants, solvents or chemical substances.
- Keep away from infants and small children when not in use.
- Note: Please discard after several uses or as soon as wax accumulates on earplugs.
Additional FAQs
What are the best ear plugs for snoring?
The best ear plugs for snoring depend on your comfort and the level of noise you need to block. Foam ear plugs expand in the ear canal, while silicone earplugs mould to the shape of your ear. There are also specialist options like noise cancelling earplugs for snoring and isolate ear plugs. For very loud snoring, dense high-decibel (dB) ear plugs for sleeping may be more effective. Ear plugs are rated by their Noise Reduction Rating (NRR), which typically ranges from 22 dB to 37 dB – the higher the rating, the more noise they can reduce.
How do I put ear plugs in correctly?
For foam ear plugs, roll the plug into a small, tight cylinder, then reach over your head with the opposite hand to gently pull your ear upwards. Insert the plug into the ear canal and hold it in place while it expands to create a snug fit. Silicone and reusable ear plugs are pressed or twisted gently into place. Always follow the manufacturer’s instructions, as fitting methods can vary. Insert them carefully and never push them too deep, as this can cause discomfort or damage to the eardrum.
Is it safe to sleep with ear plugs in every night?
Ear plugs are generally safe to use every night, as long as you follow good hygiene. Wash your hands before handling them, clean reusable plugs regularly, and replace single-use foam ear plugs often. Keeping them clean and dry helps lower the risk of irritation, earwax build-up, or infection. Avoid pushing ear plugs too far into the ear canal, as this can cause discomfort or wax blockage. If you notice pressure, itching, or soreness, try a different type or size – or consult a healthcare professional for advice.
Do ear plugs damage your ears?
When used properly, ear plugs are safe and should not damage your ears. Issues usually arise if they’re inserted too deeply, used when dirty, or not replaced often enough, which can lead to irritation or wax build-up. To prevent problems, insert them gently, keep them clean, and follow the manufacturer’s replacement guidance. If you have ongoing ear problems, it’s best to speak with a healthcare professional before using ear plugs regularly.

Happier holiday!
My Mum snores very loudly! We holiday once a year together and i dread sharing a room with her as I’m unable to sleep well due to her snoring. This year I tried the Snore Calm Elite. I certainly slept better as they seemed to dampen the sound of Mum’s snoring although I could still hear her a bit. I’m not sure that my ears are the ‘right shape’ to hold the ear plugs… That could be the issue….
highly effective
I have been using ear plugs for many years, buying from high street chemists mainly. I needed to cut out road noise where I used to live, but lately my wife has increasingly been snoring which has resulted in a lot of disturbed nights and I needed some really good earplugs. These are just perfect for me. They block out everything. They are comfortable, don’t irritate and each pair lasts many days. They won’t suit everyone eg people with short ear canals and some of the negative reviews are undoubtedly from people who are not fitting them properly or have bought the wrong thing for them. Fitted correctly, these are superb.
Ear Plugs
Very good for stopping low to medium noise. Reasonably comfortable for overnight use.
The Best Earplugs Ever
These earplugs really are effective. They are easy to insert, comfortable to wear and really do block out noise. Since buying these, I have had undisturbed sleep and feel so much better. Don’t hesitate – buy them! I truly believe that you will find none that are better.
Not for us
We had high hopes for this product as the general reviews seemed positive but I have to say that for us (both my husband and I tried them) they didn’t offer any noise reduction at all. They protruded from my ears (must have small canals?) and although this wasn’t uncomfortable it meant they didn’t stay put for very long at all. They fitted my husband fine but he could hear everything as if they were not in situ at all! I really wouldn’t recommend them at all – we are regular users of silicone ear plugs which work well but are costly so were looking for a cheaper alternative – instead of saving some money – we wasted some! I have discovered you can recycle them by chopping them up and putting them in the soil of house plants – apparently they help with water storage – that’s where ours will be going anyway!
