Best device I have tried
on the 28th May 2014
Having tried a few one piece MAD's the difference in these and the SomnoGuard SP soft is considerable. The moulding process and fit is pretty straightforward and allows you to have a device that is moulded to both the upper and lower teeth, which does make it more comfortable than one piece "boil and bite" devices. The two piece device also allows some mouth breathing, the previous devices I have tried made me sound like Darth Vader and that got the thumbs down from my other half. So does it work? It has stopped me snoring completely and I wake up feeling more refreshed. I also used to suffer with morning headaches (especially after alcohol) and these have gone. For me this has been worth the money on its own. Having used the device for a few weeks the lower jaw fitting is starting to loosen and I can feel a refit coming on. Finally it is expensive for what is in essence a couple of high tech mouth guards but they do work and I will back for another one when this one wears out.

Having a partner that is super sensitive to noise during sleep, I purchased my first Tomed SomnoGuard SP Soft mandibular device in Jan 14 after having previously used the Tomed SomnoGuard AP over a space of a couple of years. Both of these products take a little bit of setting up and to getting used to but with regular use I've come not notice the guard when I'm sleeping. Changing to the SP Soft has made a huge difference, the device is more comfortable to use and not as fiddly to use. Personally I'd pay the extra money for the SP Soft, but both do a good job and my partner in general gets a much better nights sleep.

I been using MADs for some time with variable successes, after deciding to change over to this one " SomnoGuard SP Soft" I immediately notice and felt the difference it's like adding a double rest sleep. I don't know if this works for everyone but it worked for me, with my humble understanding about how this devise works I would relay this to the fact that there is no obstruction in the cavity between the two jaws and the tongue is resting in a manner that it wouldn't fall back and contribute to obstructions.

Very effective. I now wake up in my own bed next to my wife every morning. When I snored I had to go into the spare room most nights.

Great product, really does work and extremely comfortable. Horrendous price tag though, however, it simply backfires on the sellers as I only replace it when absolutely necessary. If more reasonably priced I would definitely replace more frequently.

I'm now on my third one of these. To be honest, I find these only effective for about a year, before the fit (even with remoulding) goes off. One way round this is to use a dot of denture fixative on either plate. It's a bit yucky, but it does work. Like other reviewers, my partner (wife) says it's less effective if I have a drink. It also helps if you just 'fess up to being overweight and lose some!

This device was a lot easier to mould than the ap soft. It fits more comfortably. The side adjustments are much more convenient than the front screw.

I had tried just about every advertised gadget to try to curb my snoring - to no avail. I stumbled across this by accident and almost didn't buy it because of the price. What a mistake that would've been. This works excellently. Now when I begin snoring in the. Other my wife's nudge has me put this in and fall straight back asleep - with no snoring. The only thing that defeats it is excessive alcoholo and/or cigars. For me the instructions for self fitting were a tad intimidating - so I had my dentist do it. That as a really good call - from day one it has been effective (although it took a few nghts to get the right adjustment for optimum results). A life changer for this snorer - now I spend every night in my own bed! Recommended

I'm in my late 30s and I was skeptical that this would be a waste of money like a late-night TV infomercial project. But, it does, in fact work, and I've been using it since 2010. Each one has lasted only about a year. The instructions for the molding process could be a little clearer, and I think it is grotesquely overpriced, as another reviewer said, but if you're suffering from snoring due to jaw alignment, this is an effective tool.
Expensive, but it works.

I started out using a much cheaper MAD, which worked very well, but was very uncomfortable, as all the pressure is taken on the front teeth. I got fed up with them hurting every time I tried to bite into anything, so initially I tried a Somnoguard AP, as I liked the idea of the infinite adjustment. I hadn't reckoned on the fact that the adjustment mechanism would keep my mouth sufficiently open that I couldn't keep my lips closed when asleep. It made my snoring worse, and was a hugely expensive disaster. I went back to my cheap MAD, but eventually could stand it no longer, and forced myself to try the Somnoguard SP. This one works (although not as well as my cheap MAD), and cures the problem with the front teeth as the load is spread evenly over both jaws. So, it works OK, but I think it is grotesquely overpriced, and they're even too mean to include a few more bits of plastic so that it could be adjusted in 1mm increments instead of 2mm.
